STOP, LOOK, LISTEN. THEN, ACT AS ANY GOOD CITIZEN SHOULD.

1. Understand the importance of Rosies to all of us,

2. Realize that when people, groups, and the nation act together to do something that needs to be done, we unify into a force that has a major impact for the world,

3. Work with others to create something – big or small – that honors the basic importance of Rosies: To pull together to produce something that makes a statement for doing quality work to overcome a problem facing the human family,

4. Tell others that the American Rosie Movement™ (ARM) is needed today and well into the future, help others to pull together to do something that honors the basics of good citizenship, and that we are thankful for each other’s help,

5. Make a statement – through your communication and action – about the need to embrace ARM as a new, refreshing, and clearly important social movement,

6. Join with others to publicize what you are doing, so that everyone’s contributions are seen as adding up to a whole, lasting, game-changing effort.

You may choose to do:

  • Projects we have tested, some of which other have replicated
  • Projects you create and want to be part of the American Rosie Movemet™
  • Outreach to people and organizations that care about unifying to do quality work
  • Transcription of interviews of Rosies.
  • Public awareness (e.g., in schools, to leaders, to the public) that people can do model projects, no matter how small so long as they meet the standards of the America Rosie Movement.
  • Take photo of young woman from film and put on gallery (this may wait)

The American Rosie Movement™ is new type of social movement that is based on “the people” doing visible, measurable work to honor Rosies and the Rosie Legacy™. The Rosie Legacy™ proves that people can pull together to do quality work to maintain freedom. See this document for more information.

In Phase I, we worked for more than a decade to learn how to find, interview, and work with Rosies so that public has a role in the American Rosie Movement™.

Now, in Phase II, we are passing on what we have learned with the help of many people and partners. This is your chance to celebrate the meaning of Rosies.

If you do a good job and you show others what you have completed, you will help set the stage for making the Rosie legacy™ known throughout America and the world.

Rosies were not left out during World War II when the free world desperately needed to pull together. Now, we must work together with patience, quality work, and commitment to the future.

As Nancy Sipple, a Rosie who worked in Cincinnati, said in 2011,

"We pulled together then, we can do it again. It's our only hope."

Whoever and wherever you are, there is a role for you in the past, present, and future of freedom.
